With over 30 years guiding pilots in the air on their cross country flights we really do know the skies of Algodonales like know one else.

I cannot recommend High Sierras highly enough. Chris and the team make you feel extremely welcome from the moment you arrive and really look after you all the way through your stay. I went for the “development” week and found that my stay was completely tailored to my needs and capabilities and in just one week I came back feeling hugely improved as a pilot. Chris strikes a great balance between stretching you though the encouragement of tasks but at the same time equips you to achieve them through a mixture of education, coaching and support. I felt masterly prepared before I arrived thanks to Chris’ proactive approach. I had a wonderful experience which will set me on my way to become a good flyer I hope. I will revisit for sure. In fact I stayed an extra 5 days. You will be put into a cottage in town. It is non fussy clean and comfortable. If you require anything then ask for it and it will be delivered to you. The village has all you need and the surrounding areas are beautiful and culturally astonishing. I have seen Chris and his colleague Ray interact with beginner, cp, intermediate and experienced pilot level Paragliders. They’re approach is to the level of the individual and absolutely spot on. If you can fly on a day outside the zones he caters for he will break a leg to get you in the air. If you lack confidence in your abilities. This is the place for you everyone left more confident more knowledgeable and better pilots. Having had experiences with other guides and instructors I could not recommend these guys more. Save yourself the bother.

Chris and Lynn will make sure you have a fantastic time in the Algodonales area. Their accomodation is an excellent standard and they are both really friendly and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your holiday. I improved my paragliding dramatically with Chris’s expert tuition. Even though it was windy all week, Chris was prepared to drive two hours to find us a site, so that we flew on 4 days out of 6. He even took us mountain biking on another day. The whole area is stunning and will suit CP+ to XC pilots. My favourite part was thermalling with the vultures on Lijar looking out towards the twin peaks. I highly recommend High Sierras and will be back again next year.

I recently spent a week flying with Chris, also supported by his wife Lynn and colleague Ray. Having not flown for many months, it was reassuring to know Chris was there to help guide and advise me, especially when flying from new sites. Their set up is perfect for pilots of all standards, and there was a mixed level of experience during the week I stayed with Chris. The accommodation on offer is available in two nearby locations (Algodonales & La Muela) and pick up from each location is provided by Chris. Even though the weather was faultless during my stay, Chris goes above and beyond to get you flying, often twice a day. The goal for myself was to improve on XC flying, which I had only a limited amount of experience. I soon felt the skills I’d learned previously and High Sierra’s professional coaching coming together. This culminated in achieving a XC flight of 37 km, which far surpassed my previous best. This was soon followed by another XC flight over 50 km. I would thoroughly recommend flying with High Sierra’s paragliding development school in Algodonales and look forward to booking my next holiday adventure with them again. Thanks Chris & Lynn!
