Aimed at pilots wanting to learn to fly cross country, increase airtime and learn to navigate the skies.
Fly over the Andalucian country side, a typical first XC would be around 30 KM to 50KM and aiming for more as you gain experiences. The record for the area is over 200 km.

What to expect
Our XC course is an intensive training week designed for paragliding pilots eager to fly long distances. It welcomes motivated pilots of all experience levels who share the goal of improving their XC paragliding.
Whether you’re new to XC flying or an experienced pilot with hundreds of flights, we tailor the training to your needs. Our aim is to help you achieve your first or best cross-country flight.

Aims and goals for the week
Work towards your Pilot tasks and if required take your pilot exam with us, we have study material and videos. Whether you’re new to cross-country flying or a seasoned pilot with hundreds of flights, we tailor the training to your level. Our goal is to help you achieve your first or best cross-country flight.
- Graduated week taking each day step by step starting with our grid challenge, building not only your airtime but your kilometres.
- Specialise in flying with you, coaching and guiding in the air on your first cross country flights (I will be up in the air with you, not on the ground telling you what to do).
- Theory sessions covering the different cross country subjects throughout the week
- Advanced Thermaling techniques
- Finding thermals looking for thermal sources and thermal triggers
- Specialise in flights to goal, triangle and out and return flights
- Understanding the weather for a cross country day, interpreting weather forecasts and information in order to recognise good cross country conditions
- Understanding Speed to Fly
- Instrument and waypoints understanding
- How to Fly with vultures
- BHPA Pilot development structure tasks
- Pilot tasks and exam can be included
- Entering your flights in the cross country league
Summary of the week
- Modern retrieve system utilising modern tracking systems ( Volandoo and WhatsApp)
- We use XContest a good idea to join before arriving
- We use Flyskyhy (iPhone) and XC Track (android)
- We regularly fly cross country where we set goals for example flying past Ronda an achievable 30KM to 50 KM on a good day
- Specialise in flights to goal, triangle and out and return flights
- Site Briefings and XC route planning
- Morning weather briefings before any flights
- Specialise to small groups, we guarantee there will never be more than 6 pilots per instructor in total
- We UK mobiles to help keep your costs down
- Alternative activities on non flying days
What do you need?
You will need a complete set of paragliding equipment including, Wing and Harness, reserve (with repack certificate), Radio and Vario.
Don’t forget Helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing.

Frequent Questions
Airport transfers are not included but can be organized for you at a small cost. We pick up and drop off Saturday mornings.
Shared accommodation is included on this course.
We have 2 Traditional Spanish houses located in Algodonales, close to the centre.
With 8 bedrooms, kitchens, WiFi, sun terraces, 4 bathrooms, en suite options, shared or single rooms.
€100 Deposit is required to guarantee a place. This can be paid online or bank transfer. The remaining balance is to paid on arrival.

BHPA Registered
Our school is recognized by the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA), ensuring that we meet all the requirements for teaching and can qualify students through the BHPA educational system.

FAI Ippi Card
FAI APPI is a global network of schools and flight centers. An International Pilot Proficiency Information (IPPI) Card serves as proof of your flying experience and proficiency, allowing you to convert your rating to that of your home country.
